We are in northern Bavaria right between Würzburg and Nürnberg
Our exhibition room is located at:

Kellerweg 6
91483 Stierhöfstetten
Germany

It is in the basement of the Mulihof guest house ... right behind the "Biergarten" of the Cafe Mulihof.
Take a look at those maps to get a rough idea where your trip will take you to.

Here you can find some detailed instructions depending on your preferred means of transportation.

By Car

We have to admit. Coming by car is still one of the easiest ways. Public transport is not in its gloriest state out here in the "wild". The good aspect, however, is that you will not have to search for a parking lot out here.

Coming from anywhere ... with GPS:

  • Try to use our main address with the town name "Stierhöfstetten".
  • If you have trouble locating this place use "Oberscheinfeld" as the city name, because our village "technically" belongs to this bigger village (Germans call that relationship "Ortsteil").
  • The GPS coordinates are: N49 43 29.2 E10 24 54.1

Coming from Nürnberg:

  • No matter where you came from. In general you should end up on highway A3 from Nürnberg towards Würzburg.
  • The shortest route would recommend that you exit at Geiselwind, turn towards the south and take a ride up and down a hill heading for the city of Scheinfeld.
  • Pass through Haag and continue up and down towards Prühl.
  • Stay on the main road driving south for another 3 kilometers until you reach Oberscheinfeld.
  • On the marketplace in Oberscheinfeld take a right towards Rüdenhausen / Stierhöfstetten.
  • The next village after 2 km is Stierhöfstetten.
  • Just before you enter the village take a right and enter the Kellerweg.

Coming from Würzburg:

  • Make sure you get on highway A3 driving into the Nürnberg direction.
  • Take the exit named Wiesentheid (number 75) and drive south towards Neustadt a. d. Aisch and Castell.
  • Follow the main road through Rüdenhausen and take a left towards Greuth near the end of the town.
  • Stay on the road for about 3 km and pass through Greuth.
  • Now enjoy the winding road up into the Steigerwald forrest and drive 5 more kilometers until you reach Stierhöfstetten.
  • Once you get there continue on the main road until you leave the village again.
  • Finally make a left turn into the Kellerweg road and park your car.

If you do not arrive in Stierhöfsetten within 15 minutes after exiting the highway, chances are good that you either missed the junction in Rüdenhausen and went straight towards Castell or that you failed to spot the marketplace in Oberscheinfeld. In that case either ask someone or simply call us.

Another helpful aid are the many signs and markers in our area that guide tourists to the "Cafe Mulihof", since we are located in exactly the same building.

By Train

Being located really close to the main train route from Würzburg to Nürnberg gives us a fairly good train connection. No matter where you come from, you should look out for Markt Bibart as your final destination. Check out reiseauskunft.bahn.de for train schedules.

From Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof:

  • Find a train that goes towards "Markt Bibart". This is R-Bahn R1, usually a Reginal Express towards Frankfurt, that leaves a few minutes past the hour, almost every hour.
  • If you do not have a train ticket for all the way to Markt Bibart you must buy a ticket for the reginal VGN public transport system now. You need a "Preisstufe 10+T" ticket, which is the maximum, since "Markt Bibart" is the last train station on the outer rim of the VGN universe in the far far west. In general you can not get this ticket on the train!
  • Get on the train and take a nap for about 30 minutes.
  • Get off at Markt Bibart. This is the next station after "Neustadt/Aisch".
  • Call us at 0700-OBJECTFARM so that we can pick you up. Otherwise you are asking for a 15 km walk. Sadly there are no taxis at the station and the bus is only operating add odd times (and usually just on Sundays).
  • If you are traveling with a bike you can enjoy a scenic easy ride. See the bike instructions for details.
  • It takes 15 minutes to reach Stierhöfstetten by car.

or from Würzburg Hauptbahnhof:

  • You need the train that stops in "Markt Bibart". Every Reginal Express towards Nürnberg will do the trick.
  • It commonly leaves at platform number 8 and will be your mobile home for about 30 minutes.
  • After the train left "Iphofen" your next stop will be Markt Bibart. This is where you get off and continue like visitors from the Nürnberg direction (see above).

By Airplane

The only helicopters that are allowed to land in our village are those from rescue organizations. So generally you will aim for one of the big "traditional" airports: Frankfurt or Nürnberg.

Arriving at Frankfurt (FRA) international airport:

  • Try to not get lost after you exit the plane (OK .. Heathrow would be even worse, but Frankfurt still tries hard to be a really challanging environment to the human species).
  • Those coming from outside the EU should not worry about "finger prints", "iris scans" or other special welcome ceremonies. Germany does not (yet?) consider all its visitors to be dangerous aliens.
  • So if you are headed for the new and really nice train station you should look for a train to Würzburg. The fast ICE train leaves almost every hour and needs almost 90 mintes to get you to Würzburg.
  • From there you need to continue like all the others that travel by train. Your final destination is called Markt Bibart and a Regional Express will carry you for the last 30 minutes.
  • The total traveling time from FRA-airport to Markt Bibart is about 2 hours.
  • If you decided to get a rental car be warned that the route from Frankfurt to Würzburg is very often a stop-and-go nightmare and the drive is about 2 hours as well. Once you get close to Würzburg, follow the instructions for visitors arriving by car.

Arriving at Nürnberg (NUE) international airport:

  • This is a fairly small airport and you will not have any difficulties to find your way around.
  • As soon as you exit the airport buy a "Preisstufe 10+T" ticket for the VGN public transport system.
  • Get on the U-Bahn U2 subway and watch the dark tunnels until you get off at the Hauptbahnhof station.
  • From there you will continue like all the others traveling by train.
  • If you are lucky and catch the subway approx. 35 minutes past the hour you will get to Markt Bibart within 60 minutes. So flying to NUE instead of FRA can save about an hour of train travel.

By Bike

Map Schwarzenberger Land - Bike RoutesWhen you arrive by train and are in company of your (folding) bike you can easily cycle the last 13 kilometers from Markt Bibart to Stierhöfstetten. In good weather conditions it is quite a relaxing ride.

There is a cycle path which, as all cycle pathes, is well marked but still not that easy to find unless you know where it exactly is. But since most roads around here are not really busy it is not too stressful to travel on the regular streets.

Initially both routes are the same. You simply follow the road from Markt Bibart to Scheinfeld. It is a little uphill until you reach the forrest and then you take a left into the "forbidden" road that will take you down to Scheinfeld.

Once you reach Scheinfeld you have to decide if you want to swollow the purple (cycle path) of the orange (road) "pill". For the orange road tour you turn left on the first cross road and ride towards Geiselwind. The route is: Grappertshofen, Burgambach, Herpersdorf, Oberscheinfeld, Stierhöfstetten.

For the cycle path you would continue straight into Scheinfeld and take a left on the marketplace. From there you should be able to follow the Talauenradweg T1 which will lead you to: Schodsenbach, Herpersdorf, Oberscheinfeld, Krettenbach. From there you turn to the regular street towards Stierhöfstetten.

By Horse

Many visitors of the Mulihof travel this way. For details on the possible routes and stop overs check out the "Reiten zwischen Main und Donau" website.

By Foot

Ok. This is a tough one. But there are some brave people out there and they still prefer to walk from A to B. While it might be a long way from Markt Bibart, your chances are good to get a bus from the train station to Scheinfeld or even Oberscheinfeld. There are a number of marked routes that you can take and the tourist info center at the railway station in Markt Bibart or the one located at the Scheinfeld market place can provide you with a detailed map.

If you are lucky and catch a bus to Oberscheinfeld then the final 2 km is a relaxing walk. Simply follow the river or the road towards the north west and you will get straight to Stierhöfstetten.

So you see, the choice is yours.
We are looking forward to meet you!
