Getting used to being an Apple developer ... and why it is a good thing.

WWDC 1999 brings Mac OS X

FireWire LogoFor the first time the ObjectFarm was visiting Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference to meet with the WebObjects and Mac OS X community, learn about the final step of the Apple-NeXT merger (Mac OS X) and help in providing a online report for the stepwise readers.

Many interesting announcments regarding Mac OS X core technologies have been made. To us the most interesting was the introduction of CoreFoundation which bridges the old C-API world into the Objective-C world of objects with no major gaps.

Quartz, the new PDF based graphics engine, looks very promissing too and the potential is incredible, given that it can perform anti aliasing and transparency rendering on the fly. Many featuers which have been only known to Photoshop users are now part of the general core desktop
